CS4L RELEASES SLEEP, RECOVERY, AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE
Canadian Sport for Life is pleased to announce the release of Sleep, Recovery, and Human Performance, written by Dr. Charles Samuels and Brent Alexander. The article presents comprehensive sleep strategies to improve athlete's overall sleep behaviours. All strategies presented in the article are aligned with Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and directly address how athletes, coaches, parents and health professionals can implement the strategies suitable for athlete needs. Sleep, Recovery, and Human Performance covers
the three critical factors needed to receive a full night's
rest: sleep length, sleep quality, and sleep phase. All three
factors are discussed in relation to general human performance,
leading to higher athlete achievement. The resource provides
information on tracking an individual's sleep through sleep
logs, as well as sleep disorders coaches and parents need to
monitor, including insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, movement
disorders, parasomnias, mood disorders, Sleep, Recovery, and Human Performance is available
